How many hours a week will you be allowed to pay per week if you aren't able to provide health insurance?

-Under Obamacare, how many hours can you hire someone per week if you aren't able to provide health coverage, without paying a $2000 fine? American employees are gonna get really expensive. Do we have to provide coverage for illegals?1. Obamacare was rejected by Congress, and will never happen.

2. Under the new law that was passed, which is written by Congress, not by Obama, you will be able to provide health coverage for all your workers. There will no longer be any possibility of not being able to provide health coverage.

3. The coverage requirement is the same for all workers, including illegals. If you hire illegals, then you must provide coverage for them or pay the same fine as if you hired American citizens.

4. $2000 per worker who works enough hours for you to be required to provide coverage is approximately $1 per hour that the person works. If you are now paying at least $1 above minimum wage, then you can simply cut everyone's pay by $1 per hour, if you want, so that it does not get any more expensive to hire American citizens.
Starting in 2014, if you have 50 or more full-time workers (or the equivalent in part-time workers), you will be required to provide group health insurance to your employees. If you don鈥檛, you will face a financial penalty when one or more of your employees turns to a health insurance exchange to obtain coverage.



This provision of the law is based on the number of people you employ, not their legal status. If the requirement applied only to employers with 50 or more full-time legal workers, that could provide employers an incentive to hire more undocumented workers.
If you are an employer with over 50 employees, you will be required to offer insurance under the Health Care Act but I disagree with that. Individuals should buy their own insurance from the exchange in 2014. If someone is illegal they should not be working for you.
