Can insurance companies deny me f I get a new full-time job because of pre-existing conditions?

-I had to quit my FT job because I decided to go back to school FT. I called some insurance companies. One denied me because I had pre-existing conditions, but I didn't have insurance though an employer then. They told me I would be in the high-risk pool. The premiums in the high-risk pool were extremely expensive. I didn't qualify for Medicaid for some reason, but they told me to check out the low-income state-sponsored health insurance. I am now on that, but I'm having problems with them too. I plan on becoming a nurse when I am out, and I would like to move to another state. Do all states have state-sponsored health insurance if you're low-income or unemployed? If I got a job as a nurse, would their health insurance plan cover me?Not all states have the same state-sponsored insurance as you have now. Some have other state-sponsored insurance, but you might not qualify for it. For example, at one time, New York had a program where you had to have a job to qualify; if you were unemployed, then you could not get it. That insurance still exists, but I am not sure if that rule does.

If you get a job that comes with group health insurance, then the company cannot deny you the ability to get the insurance because of the preexisting condition. However, if you did not have insurance for at least 13 of the 15 months immediately prior to getting the new insurance, then they may be able to deny you coverage for the preexisting condition. You will still have insurance, but only for new things that first begin while you have insurance.
