Uninsured flooring installer helper in pittsburgh pa?

-Im working for a a flooring installer that is a huge dick as his helper. I dont have contractors insurance or anything and was wondering if im supposed to have it or be cover under him? Can he get in trouble for me not having it or me not being covered by him?be very careful, or else the city can fine you.
