-Hi all hope you can help me.
my mum was badgered into buying home insurance from the Halifax in 2007 she was told that they would be able to save her money but still offer the same insurance as she previously had with her previous company.
She told them she needed cover for personal items such as mobile phone away from home and also accidental damage cover. she was assured she was still getting this and that the cover would be the same as her previous insurance. she took this policy out and had no problems until last week my brothers phone went missing while he was out and she rang to make a claim and was told she was only covered for items in her house.
Upon finer inspection.of documents shred also found that she would have no accidental damage cover either.
Could this be counter as mis selling as she would never have taken the policy if she hadn't been told she had accidental damage and personal possession cover.
How would i argue this with them?
